How do I use SIDs and STARs other than the DEFAULT one?

For that, you need to purchase NAVIGRAPH for $30, and I can advise how to convert it to FGFS.

Or, you need to add the fixes manually, or use a rte file in the Route Manager (note: Router Manager will be defunct soon, CO RTE on MCDU will replace this feature)

Kind Regards,
Josh

Wait, then how do I know when to descend?

But when using OP DES to descend, you can't control VS, can you? I'm losing track of all the abilities...

Airbus VOR/DME and NP approaches:

lateral guidance TRK (not HDG!) mode for wind correction
vertical guidance FPA (not V/S!) with FD off ("birdie" in PFD)

The appropriate FPA can be found in the profile section of the approach plates. Hopefully the A320 FPA is modelled correctly with decimals which is crucial for descending precisely.

cheers

If you know your V/S, then use V/S. Otherwise, use OP DES. (until managed DES is available)

@SVW
Our autopilot closely models the real one, except for managed CLB and DES modes (coming later), FPA is fully working, realistically.

Josh

I still feel you didn't watch the video I linked.

You keep the throttles in the CL detent. The A/THR will switch between THR IDLE, THR CLB (or MCT, or DCLB1/2 if 330), and SPEED/MACH modes automatically.

Josh

Try just entering the altitude - the temperature is not yet simulated ;)
