Boeing 777 @ KATL -> Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Postby eric » Fri Oct 06, 2017 5:19 pm

Hi, guys.

This is my first time out with the new 2017.3.1 release. Exciting! :)

I started fgfs in the Boeing 777-200 at KATL @ parking position T11A
Before doing anything to the aircraft, I was just panning around and fgfs crashed with this message: Segmentation fault (core dumped).

Questions:

Where is the dump written?
What's a good way to debug?

Here is my command line:
Code: Select all
Options passed on the command line:
--launcher
Options set in the launcher:
--aircraft-dir=/home/eric/.fgfs/Aircraft/777
--aircraft=777-200

United 239: “Approach, I’ve always wanted to say this… I’ve got the little Fokker in sight.”

I 'm no developer, but has a segfault nothing to do with memory shortage? 4G of RAM could be too few for FG' s 777, especially if there are other (memory intensive) tasks running in the background. Just my piece of advice, I could be wrong so if anyone with more knowledge can jump in to confirm or deny, it's welcomed!

"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Actually, I posted the specs for the wrong machine (*palm to forehead*). The machine whose specs I posted actually runs FG ok. I have 16G on the machine that segfaulted. It may well have just been an anomaly. I'll try flying on that machine again and see what happens (I haven't tried again since it's not my usual FG machine).

Thanks for the feedback.
