Postby Billy5 » Tue Jul 25, 2017 9:45 pm

i just can't get the engine started. i press the "s" key nothing happens then i press "n" key repeatedly no increase in rpm.
as u can tell i'm a real newbie to flight sims the only experience i have is as a passenger on 747's and a cessena.
if i can get the darn thing started i might be able to take flight and fly for a few secs.
thank you if u can help. i sure would appreciate it.

The C172P is quite complex to start. If you want to get going quickly, try 'Cessna 172P > Autostart'.
There are free alternatives to (almost) every program you encounter. You just have to find them.

Indeed. To start properly, you must
1. Turn the battery on in the cockpit (big red switch)
2. Push the fuel lever in fully (m key)
3. Prime the fuel by pushing the black lever on the left in about 5 times
4. Increase the throttle (Pg Up) to about 10%
5. Turn on the magnetos by pressing } three times
6. Press start and hold it.
