Landing

Postby Roberticus01 » Thu Feb 23, 2017 9:36 pm

Hello,
I am relatively new to FlightGear and have been experiencing difficulties when landing multiple planes. Even if I can manage to hit with the back wheels relatively softly, if the brakes are already on (for whatever reason the default is sometimes like this when I start mid-flight) or if they aren't, the nose wheel slams down into the ground (no matter how slowly I ease the yoke forward using the arrow keys). How should I perform this action? Thanks.

Chances are your sinkrate is too high and the speed too low - so the plane isn't fast enough to flare by the time you're just above the ground.

Practice using small single prop plane, adhere to the published approach speed, watch glideslope using the PAPI lights and you'll get there.
