Highlighting the "presable stuff"

Postby Bquadrado » Mon Jan 16, 2017 6:02 pm

Before I installed the new 2016 version, I used to highlight every presable thing with ctrl+c, but now it doesn't work anymore.
It's really helpful and I appreciate any help.

i just tested this in the latest FGFS code at KSFO with the latest development c172p and it works fine... the instruments in the craft got the yellow wire frame as did the automated jetways...

your profile says you have 2016.2 but you don't say what craft you are in... have you tried other craft? have you tried a newer version of flightgear? new releases are four times a year, now, so bug fixes are available to the public sooner than in previous times...

FWIW: when i run into something like this, i fall back to KSFO and the c172p since they were the base options for so long...

"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

I just tried this on my Macbook with 2016.4.3 and I can confirm this as a bug on Mac OS in that version. Nothing highlighted in yellow. I use this feature all the time on Ubuntu.

I should test 2016.4.4 I guess, but I think it was just a security release?

shoot!! i completely missed that this was a mac... sorry

we'll have to get james (aka zakalaw), the main developer to look at it since he's doing all the main dev work on a mac...

I opened a ticket. If someone could confirm the bug does or does not exist on Windows, that would probably be helpful.

https://sourceforge.net/p/flightgear/codetickets/1937/

The less than convenient workaround is to open the property browser and set "sim/panel-hotspots" to 1. Set it to 0 to turn the hotspots off again.

Have you tried command+c on your Mac yet?
There are free alternatives to (almost) every program you encounter. You just have to find them.

Command-c doesn't toggle the hotspots.

(Other bindings with the control key work on Mac OS, e.g. ctrl-x, ctrl-v).
