How to do an ILS approach in FGA320

Postby LH381 » Thu Nov 24, 2022 11:06 am

Does anyone know how to fly an ILS Approach for the Flightgear a320? I really want to know so that I can make my flights more realistic.

YouTube is my friend. It's a bit long. Probably others. I searched for "FlightGear A320 ILS"

Just for completeness some items to add:

- any quality tutorial will do as the real thing is modelled in detail
- flying ILS is possible in a few variants:
- autoland
- normal ILS (Autopilot disconnected for example when runway in sight.)
- manually flying down with the help of flight director
- raw data ILS approach (no autopilot, no flight director, pure skills)
The last variant can be requested during a checkride. Autoland is only used if needed or only very occasional.

With A320 I use autoland only in very bad visibility. This plane fly very good, it is sin to use autoland.
