you should have told the OP to click on the Browse button and then search... none of this other stuff need be done or even mentioned :?

"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

this may be an incomplete download... the intermediate file may need to be removed and the install restarted...
i'm not sure about that, though... i manually maintain my local copy of FGAddon outside of FG so i don't see/have these problems...

you cannot add a hanger until you first enter a valid URL to the new hanger's catalog ;)
but you do not need to do this for the A320 since it is already in the FGAddon hanger...

If user write that he can't find A320family, but have installed 747 and other planes, something with default hangar is wrong.
But OK, with FG I'm not as experienced as You.

It will be long way, at the end You will be very satisfied.
On YT You can find many tutorials for FSLabs A320, FG A320family works very similar. I very recommend Navigraph subscription for flight management system data, flights with them is next level of the realism.

Some of my full flights started from cold and dark state :

in this case, he needed to browse first... then search...

it is ok that you forgot and didn't notice they were set to view only their installed craft in the snapshot they provided... the launcher defaults to installed only to make it easier/faster for folks to get to the craft they are interested in flying/driving... the extra step of browsing is needed to see craft they don't have installed... they might also need to adjust the filtering (loosen it) to be able to see craft that are below the default filtering settings... it only takes a little time to relearn that which has been forgotten ;)

1. The FL is set to 210 but the airplane is going higher and higher

That is because you have the vertical speed activated. See the light at the bottom of the VSFDA switch next to your altitude? You have the vertical climb rate set to 1000 feet per minute. Click the FLCH button if you want the altitude circled. VNAV works only if your flightplan contains altitude information, e.g. from Flight Plan Database, https://flightplandatabase.com/planner by entering the cruise altitude before generating the route. Adding glide path fixes from IFR approach plates is left as an exercise.

If You want fly with good plane, I strongly recommend A320family.

This does not address the fact that the Window Heat button above the RAM switch does not reliably work. It tends to switch off after take-off. Click the buttons, the light blinks on then off. Page after page of messages in the FMC stating deicing is off, then on, then off,...repeat. Climbing to 40,000 feet does not remove the ice, defying laws of physics. Set the altimeter to 3,000 ft the ice dissipates, but the deicing button clicks itself off shortly or immediately after clicking it on. The backup deicer is still not implemented after all these decades. It doesn't matter in which sequence the deicer is turned on, before or after apu and engine start .

Development is being done on the 787-9 which does not yet (?!) appear in the launcher hanger. You have to use the command line to select one of the two variants.

The 787-10, both GE and Trent, has the same problem. Not a problem, since you can't see the ground anyway at 3,000 ft with Atmospheric Light Scattering turned on. Yes, it is possible for icing at 40,000ft in a storm, but not with clear skies. At 3,000ft the heating system shows the wing temp at 16C, but the window temp is -12C. How is that possible? Perhaps a design flaw?

Using fgfs-git, 787-10-Trent. Tried turning on Window Heat before/after Battery On, APU Start/On, Engine Start. Either those 4 lights above the Ram Engine button stay on until cruise before switching off, or during pre-flight. Perhaps an unlikely congruence of unanticipated events, aka boundary condition error?

Window Heat fixed

Postby psnarf » Fri Jan 21, 2022 3:38 am

I traced the spontaneous off of the WINDOW HEAT buttons to the Virtual Copilot. The heat remains active until I click Initialize on the Virtual Copilot. Turn off copilot, window heat stays on until I turn it off. Turn on copilot, no change. Initialize --> window heat *off*.

I think that's the Window Heat, on Overhead Panel, a bit left on the Center, beside the Engine Start Panel. You should see it with backup and primary, go for primary and activate all
