MP broken on 2019.1.2

Postby dilbert » Mon Oct 14, 2019 12:55 pm

Periodically check MP and aircraft visibility using two computers (aircraft used in each computer requires a different
call sign for this to work).

Using 2018.3.2, checked Navion and DR400 this morning. Aircraft appeared in pilot lists and were visible to each other on apron. (Navion to Navion, Navion to DR 400, etc.). :)

However, when I restarted one computer using 2019.1.2, aircraft disappeared from both Pilot Lists and were no longer visible to one another. :(

Now thinking I'd like an interim 2018.3.3 version with Metar fixed.

I haven't experienced this with FG2019.2.0. I just tried this yesterday with V12 at TNCM, and he showed up ok, except I didn't have his Concorde downloaded, so he was a yellow/blue glider.

Make sure that both are running with the same protocol.

Multiplayer --> Multiplayer Settings --> Compatibility
- Visible to all
- Visible to only 2017+

The first one is the old protocol and will be dropped in some months.
The second is the new protocol.

Both were running visible to all. Worked using visible only to 2017+. Thank you WoodSTokk.

P.S. Clarification. When I first encountered the problem, one machine was running 2018.3.2 and the other
2019.2.1. Selecting "only 2017+" on the 2018.3.2 machine made both planes visible to one another.
With both machines running 2019.2.1 no problem exists with mutual visibility; but I also note no "visible to all" selection remains available in 2019.1.2.

All this was a bit confusing to me, as I was using the Navion-an older plane, and was unsure what "visible only to 2017+ " versus "visible to all" meant.

If I continue using 2019.2.1, does this mean I won't see planes running on older versions unless their user has independently selected "only 2017+" in their MP ? And how many user planes running on earlier versions will ever be visible if a "2017+" selection is nonexistent in their MP ?

:? As usual.

Yesterday I seen SurferTim's DHC6 without any problems. FG2019.1.2 on Ubuntu 18.04 builded with download and compile script.

@V12: Post a link to your Concorde. I couldn't find it. I'd like to have it in my database for our next encounter.
