I have also noticed that the elevator trim was moving during taxi and my rudder trim during flying, I had a problem with too much dust inside my yoke so I took it apart
and cleaned it up with a can of dust off (safe for pc's), it fixed my rudder trim issue but not my elevator trim so I just readjust before takeoff.

- Rudder (trim) issues are nearly solved. In my personal opinion rudder sensitivity is still a bit too high and rudder trim sensitivity is just a little bit too high.

Go to your .fgfs/Input/Joysticks/youryoke.xml file, I have a Ch-ECLIPSE yoke and my binding/ factor settings are; Aileron= 0.4, Elevator= -0.4, and Rudder= -0.5 and these settings are perfect for me.
These changes are permanent vs the property browser / .

Keep up the good work on the B777

Hallo, AAL!

Thanks for your advice, I'll follow it.

Just try the 777 from it0uchpods's GitHub repository, there elevator trim shouldn't move on its own.

I'm too looking forward to the progress in 777-development.

Okay I need some help here, I really like the B777 so can someone point me to the most up to date model.
I'm currently using the one from "https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/777" but I notice it hasn't been updated in a while but it does have the added GPWS in the Sounds file which I like,
that way you get 2500 feet callout, plus other sound warnings.

Now there is the one from "it0uchpods Hangar", what's the difference between the two?

Most up to date is FGaddons:
http://mirrors.ibiblio.org/flightgear/f ... nk/777.zip

FGMEMBERS' fork is outdated not having many of the latest updates on fgaddon.

it0uchpods is as far as I know going to be merged once Isaak reviews the commits?

Okay thanks.
I hope they put the GPWS sounds file back in. The 2500 feet warning is a must as far as I am concerned.

Hope I'm not hijacking this thread but I don't remember the autothrottle automatically kicking in when landing. This latest version does that even though I'm not stalling. Am I missing something?

It shouldn't, and I didn't change anything in the logic.

Irregardless, perhaps I can find the issue and fix it. So what do you mean kicking in while landing? Perhaps screenshots / more context can help :)

Kind Regards,

Hi all,

it0uchpods' modifications have been committed some time ago, so there shouldn't be a difference with the FGaddon version anymore for that part.

Regarding the autothrottle kicking in: as you mention it I remember it does indeed, and it's done that for ages. It only happens when the Flight Director is activated and automatically applies TO/GA thrust when descending through maybe 200 ft AGL. I didn't remember it anymore because since years (before I started modifying the 777 myself), I 've made a habit of switching off the F/D. Worth looking into, but for now: if you keep the F/D off you won't have it engaging (normally).

Thanks Isaak, that's probably what happened. I haven't flown the 777 in a while and I didn't recall that behavior but I'll try to disengage FD as well as AT.

Also thanks Josh for the reply. The behavior is that I was established on ILS and auto descent whatever it is called and then disengaged AT, then disengaged AP, and the AT turned on a bit before touchdown and wouldn't stay off. As Isaak said FD was still engaged.

Perhaps it's better to not allow this behavior based on FD being on or off. Is that how it works in real life?

I don't think so, but I'll double checking it.
I believe it only turns on if you push the TOGA Button, or push them fully forward to the end?

Kind Regards,

Thanks again Josh,

I just double checked this flying using flightdirector (FD) and when landing I switched to LOC and then APP. Then a bit out I turned off AT. Then I turned off AP at about 1000 feet above. A bit before touch down AT engaged. I clicked it off but it went right back on. The AP was still off here. I then turned off FD and then for the third time AT off, and now it stayed off.

So it looks to me like it's related to the FD.

Hi,
Which mode did it engage in? RETARD? or SPD.

Can't remember. I didn't check.

I just checked again and now it didn't happen. I'm not sure what the issue is.

Did you try it?

No, not yet. I'm quite busy at the moment with my personal projects. Weekends are the best time for such.

I'm guessing it has to do with throttle position. Try moving your throttle a bit upper or lower and see what happen.
