Can't control rudder

Postby ryanlee » Sun Sep 27, 2009 6:05 pm

I installed Flight Gear on Mac OS 10.6 and I love it. The only problem is I try to control the rudder with "0" and "Enter" for left and right. The "0" works fine but "Enter" doesn't work. Did anyone else have this problem. How do I fix this?

Thank you

Is it on a laptop? On mine it doesn't work as well. I suppose, the rudder is controlled by NumPad "Enter". Try using mouse instead (pressing the left mouse button while the mouse is in the yoke control mode).

Hi Alral, ryanlee,

I have a link for you: Link

Please report if it was usefull and/or if any info is missing, thanks!

IDK if this a good/easy solution, so, if someone has a better suggestion on how to solve this, please report. I'll update the wiki then, thanks!

Hello,
I used to run flightgear on my mac and found that in the 1.9+ releases you have click the function key + enter to get the rudder to move. You can try this for any keys that don't work.

function+delete is what allows thrust reverse as well for when it's tied to the delete key.

but you may as well use mouse click instead.

It seems on Mac that the keyboard.xml has mapping for 3 and 13 reversed. 13 (CTRL-C) is mapped to rudder and 3 (Keypad ENTER) is mapped to show controls. I edited the keyboard.xml by simply changing key n="3" to key n="13" and key n="13" to key n="3" and it worked.

This is using a PC style keyboard with keypad, not a Mac/Apple keyboard.
