Any point in me even trying to run this with this hardware?

Im currently downloading right now but it will be used on a dell inspiron 1520 laptop lol. I know don't take the micky, I just want to know would it run on low spec this beast doesn't have a graphics card but has a 3d accelarator & video card obviously.

I run FG on a laptop, and the only times I have problems because of my lack of a graphics card is when I run into bad weather. Rain and snow makes FG crash on my machine. Also, the 3D clouds aren't rendered properly. Other than that, it works great.

I also run a lap top...a dell inspiron as well :)

I don't know about your notebook's hardware specs, but primarily you'll want to look for openGL hardware support, with preferably 128+ MB of RAM (ideally dedicated). Also, if you have less than 512 MB of free RAM, the whole experience is unlikely to be very enjoyable.

Ok, thanks for the fast replies people :) just installing now anyway so ill check it out... Im looking to get a gaming pc soon as theres so much more variety over console gaming :).

If you are specifically interested in running FlightGear, you may then want to check back with the forum or the FlightGear wiki for hardware recommendations. In general, each computer that can reasonably run FlightGear, will also run most other OpenGL based 3D simulators or games.
