re purpose joystick A320 config idea..

Postby dom_vc10 » Tue Aug 09, 2022 3:34 pm

Hi

I have an old logitech joystick. it has 4 Potentiometers (I think that's the right word) for throttle, rudder etc.. The joystick got broken moving in the past so I have the internals. I want to make a box with buttons so I can press the APP, HDG buttons etc for the A320 and that should be straight forward. Would it be possible to assign one of the axis though for example to the heading bug? The issue I see is that they do not spin 360 and you would have a value of 0 - whatever is max. Has anyone ever tried this and if so is there any example. ( I tried to search )

joysticks always give an output in the range of -1 to 1. This can easily be transformed into the range of 0 - 360 by using scale and offset in the joystick config file ! :) It would be a scale of 180 and an offset of either 1 or 180 (not sure, it depends on whether the offset is applied before or after scaling)
