How to use Hatswitch as a trim?

Postby SP-NTX » Fri May 21, 2021 9:23 am

Recently, I noticed that I didn't use Hatswitch, so I figured I would set it to control the trim, similar to fighter jets.
In the joystick settings I set the trim to these axes, but the hatswitch now controls both the trim and the view. Can it be done so that it only controls the trim? My joystick is Thrustmaster T Flight Stick X.

It should absolutely be possible to make the hat switch only control trim.

What did you use to configure it, and have you looked into the configuration file? The Joystick Configuration dialog (Main Menu > Files > Joystick Configuration) should mention what configuration file FlightGear is using. Very likely you have bindings for both and could remove the set of bindings that control the view.
