I'm running on a laptop with Ryzen 5 4500U with integrated graphics and 16GB RAM and typically get between 20 and 60 fps depending on the aircraft and scenery complexity. Loading can take a while though, but it works.
Get my custom FG liveries here: https://flightgearhusky.altervista.org/

I'm off at college so I've stopped making liveries (for the time being, at least), but I'm continuing to ensure compatibility for the ones I've already published.

ok, so you're overclocked a little... we're the same on everything else except i have the RTX2060 but it is also 6Gig VRAM same as your 1060...

I'm not very surprised - we are limited by CPU...

Hello Johan G,
I saw that you had the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 from your profile. What type of performance do you get. (i.e) Highest frame you've gotten, lowest fram, performance in osmpopulated area, performance in default scenery, and performance in the UFO over the ocean. I'm thinking of getting the AMD Ryzen 2600, and needed that for comparison.

Delta5142 :
I made this video on i5-2550K and GTX750 :

This one on i5-2550K and GTX1060 6 GB :

This one too :

And last one on R7-3700X and GTX1060 :

If this benchmark https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/I ... 4vsm441832 is correct, then Ryzen 3 2200 is similar to museal i5-2550K. You really should look for something faster with same price. For example i3-10100F : https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/I ... 2vsm441832 Same price (if not bit lower), much more performance. I really do not recommend that AMD.

Wow, the i5 looks pretty convincing. I think I just might switch to "Team Blue". I have one question, how does the i5 and the gtx 1060 perform in osm scenery, for example, london?

If I remember correctly, it was around 10 fps.

EDIT :
I found one older video from i5-2550K and GTX750 with take off from EGLL :

... and this is FSX on same config :

Sorry for not quite answering your question. I instead took a quick flight over Paris, that for some can be a no-go area due to a very high number of buildings made specifically for that area.

I have my fps throttled to 25 fps (I have seen claims that it reduce stuttering fps, which generally is more annoying than low fps). With higher than default graphics settings, OBS running, and head tracking trough a web cam running, even Paris will not make the fps drop below 20 (lowest I noticed was 22). Had not tried that till today, and I was duly impressed. With my previous computer, an 2009-ish "notebook", while running FlightGear 3.0.0, I would not have flyable fps (in essence well below 10 fps and stuttering) over Paris, even with highly reduced graphics settings.

Hello Johan G,
Thanks for the reply! Wow, now the Ryzen 5 3600 is performing better than the i5. I don't know what to say. I'm sorry for pestering you, but this is the last thing I will ask, can you do a video of yourself flying over Paris or any other osm city area?
Thank You

LOD range 30 km is not enough for airliners flying at or above FL100. For low level flfying GA is OK.
R5-3600 is much better than i5-2550K. By this benchmark is singlecore and dual core difference +35% for AMD : https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/I ... 5474vs4040

we say that yet i haven't seen my FG pushing my CPU over 40% utilization at all... even my GPU is no more than 40% so i'm more inclined to say that it isn't CPU or GPU bound but something else getting in the way... not even my FX-8350 with GT730 pushed much over 60% and that's on a machine that's doing a whole lot more (hosting 4 server VMs) than just running FG... if it were CPU or GPU bound, i'd expect one or both of them to be 95% or higher... that neither is that high tells me it isn't bound by either of them...

@wkitty42:
How many cores have your CPU?
As example, i have 4 cores and the load shows 25%. That means one core runs on 100% (FG).
So, please, dont only look at the load, look at the cores itself.

Me too above Paris at 16 fps.
You can see my hardware in my profile.
Only the core CPU#2 is at 90%.
