Do I need to calibrate with Radeon RX550?

Postby Oyvind_Hagen » Sun May 26, 2019 12:55 pm

Hi to everyone.
Do I need to calibrate Radeon RX550 to do configurations with backports from Debian 9.0 original "Stretch"? Possible without direct internet-updates -> downloading necessary files to configurate in Debian 9.0 original "Stretch"?
I could not start up flightgear 2017.2.1 without error message about PNG iCCP error which I guessing that is about texture processing without newer driver.

Mauch written from Øyvind hagen.

you can ignore that ICCP warning... it doesn't hurt anything...

the ""problem"" is within the graphics files in that they are using an older color palette... that's all and it isn't really a problem...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

OK, but I am think that I need a newer driver alongside with some necessary updates with amdgpu driver in Debian 9.0 original "Stretch".

sorry, i don't know anything about that... we killed AMD/ATI video here due to drivers freezing the machine and causing data corruption... we switched to NVIDIA and never looked back...

our kubuntu boxen use NVIDIA and the driver selection is done via the Driver Manager in System Settings... we used the "recommended driver" which is currently NVIDIA binary driver v384.130...

hopefully someone will pop in with more info for you...

Understanding that. Difficult to developing graphics card with a lot of transistors, capacitors, resistors, and one additional element to developing graphic chip. Maybe AMD/ATI is switching to embedded graphic chips to earn continous income?
Laminar's Research which developing X-Plane experiencing something equivalent with AMD/ATI.

Or AMD/ATI own circuit draw has been hacked with wrong parameters?

I realize that is difficult, hmm... Wish me good dream night to tomorrow :-)

Edit: I did not dreamt anything in last night to today.
