I have written the file to appdata but the desired outcome didn't take place. What I want to do is write a small piece of code for the "Thrustmaster Hotas X" joystick to make button "SE" deploy the thrust reversers and button "ST" retract them on the 777-*** series of planes. Any ideas anyone please? As I don't have the first idea about writing the correct code to do these functions. But I can modify the exsisting XML file and write it to the appdata file so the joystick "sees it"
Thanks Clive aka: G-BLS01

You can assign button bindings to those buttons. <property-interpolate> should probably do the trick. One button should interpolate the reverser property to the closed position and v.v.

To find the button numbers the js_demo utility in FlightGear's "bin" directory (as in binaries) should be of some help.

For more on the binding see the FlightGear wiki article and section Bindings#property-interpolate (perm). See also the article Input device (perm).
