error when editing T-Flight-Hotas-X.xml

Postby guzzi948 » Sun Aug 14, 2016 7:27 am

Just bought this joystick and trying to edit the .xml to slow down the hat switch. Done this before with other joysticks without an issue.
When I start FG I get:
'Sqlite error:attempt to write to a readonly database
received from INSERT OR REPLACE INTO stat_cache (path, stamp) VALUES (?,?)'

in a pop up window. I click ok and it all shuts down.

If I revert the settings back to original, the problem remains. To fix it I have to delete the file and drop a saved copy in there.

The lines I am trying to change are:
<step type="double">-5.0</step>

I want to set it ti 1 or 2, and swap polarity in the vertical.

It seems like it is failing some kind of sanity check and doesn't like a moded file.

See the following wiki FAQ entry: When I start FlightGear I see an error mentioning "SQLite". What do I do?. So it may not be related.

yeah, this has nothing to do with your xml file... it is all about the sql database being locked...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Thanks bugman and wkitty42, tried deleting the nav data cache which made things worse, instant crash with the submit error log dialog box.
So deleted the entire flightgear.org folder.
Back to ops normal, and I am able to edit the xml for the controller successfully.
Now to sort my RAM issues, but thats another story, involving 'in spec' but somewhat dated hardware. No smarts involved, just $ :D
