There should be a X-52 config file in Inputs/Joysticks/Saitek/, which you can use. If FlightGear doesn't auto-detect the joystick, follow the steps as described on our wiki: http://wiki.flightgear.org/Joystick#Tel ... s_xml_file

The wiki says "Windows", but it works on all OS. Just add the following line to your $FG_ROOT/joysticks.xml file (right after <PropertyList>, so before the <!--:
Code: Select all
<js n="0" include="Input/Joysticks/Saitek/X52.xml"/>

And check Help > Joystick Information to see if the file is read by FlightGear.

Hi, Fox here
I just created this acount to ask this.
I just got the x52 and meddled with joystick.xml, but forgot to back it up. Now FlightGear doesnt work anymore.

Is there a Link somewhere where I can get joystick.xml or do I have to reinstall completely?

Thanks,
The Fox

No need to reinstall, no worries ! :) If you give us your complete version number, we can give you a link to the original file to download.

I already found it, still thank you.

I tried the method you described above to connect my x52, but that doesnt seem to work for me

The editor also marks the line as an error

I found the Error,

The Joystick was recognized as "X52 H.O.T.A.S."
I needed to add this to the nametag list in x52.xml
then it worked

Good find! I've added it to the file, so it should be auto-detected in future versions of FlightGear.
