AI Takeoff roll

Postby jtprophet » Thu Aug 05, 2021 2:17 am

Hello all,

Is there a way to prolong an ai aircraft takeoff roll to match that of the real one?

Thank-you

no... the AI trafficmanager is fairly simplistic and currently gets the craft to X speed and then lifts off when the craft is Y feet down the runway... there is ongoing work to understand and debug the trafficmanager and AI code... OneDaySoon<tm> the AI will (hopefully) use the information in the performance database to calculate things like this and be more realistic...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."
