AI Testcases (Left Turn Bug)

Postby portreekid » Wed Feb 17, 2021 10:21 am

After going by the bug list :

https://sourceforge.net/p/flightgear/codetickets/search/?q=labels%3A%22AITraffic%22+and+%21status%3AVerified+and+%21status%3AInvalid+and+%21status%3ADuplicate+and+%21status%3ADone+and+%21status%3AWontFix+and+%21status%3AFixed+

I'm going to build AI Tests. There is at least one more I'm aware of. That is that forward push AI aircraft don't stop properly.

What I need now are test scenarios. I need a parking somewhere on the world where the bug manifests itself and best is one that is picked even if there is only one AI aircraft. Selection via radius and or airline is of course possible.

- Bug List updated. AI Aircraft on Roof is not a bug but only a building misplacement. Couldn't close the bug itself as I have no rights on the system.
- Aircrafts parking ahead of parkpos when not pushback set : Use any of the 6 Overflow parking positions at LFPG, East of Terminal 1 (positions and bug shown below)
- Left Turn bug as per data already available in ticket

Cheers
Ian

Now the only remaining question is. How can I park there ;-) my tests are non intrusive and therefore I use the automatic placing and hence I can only fiddle with radius, airline and flighttype. LOWL only has parkings like that so I'll go with that. And try this evening.

You could target GA parkings.

Most of them are roll forward as they are designed for smaller aircrafts.

You'll find 6 of these at YSSY just north of THR 25

Good idea, but they are a different case. They are not leave forward.

EGLC famously has roll-forward parkings, if you want a case for commercial traffic.

I finally succeeded in finding a leaving loop. Sadly that's not the YSSY ones but ones at YBBN but might apply to multiple. On leaving the aircraft follows the first segment out and then the route. So if the arrival is bi-directional and happens to be first in the list you get a loop. Will be fixed. It doesn't fix another loop after arriving in YSSY and restarting. The parkings at YSSY are good as the 90° turn is "bad" for the current code. There is no prediction and a maximum turn rate. So the aircraft passes the WP and does a hard left and never succeeds in settling to park properly aligned. It just got a turn prediction based on "beware >45° turn ahead" I have to iron out some creases in the test code for it to get accepted
