i discovered that later and filed an issue or two on the dev repo ;)
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.

Confirming the issue described by powoflight has not been introduced recently. I can see the same in FG v2.12 (October 2013) while testing my SBGR groundnet :

- Aircraft lands
- Passes an exit/vacate route on runway while still slowing down
- Stops, turns 180 degrees and backtrack to the (previously passed) exit route instead of continuing to taxi and exit at the next vacate point forward)
- Exits and park normally

As indicated, never saw this behavior before. Only change in test conditions is I have a loose RWYUSE in place at SBGR where I normally I don't use them. Will restest without it.

@powoflight did you have rwysuse in LKPR during your test ?

Cheers

Yes, allways if i dev a Groundnet. Checking every Runway for Depature and Arrival step by step.

No I meant a LKPR.rwyuse.xml in your folder.

In fact, I now realize it cannot be the issue because I always segregated my departure & arrivals at LFPG with rwyuse and still never saw this behavior. Weirder and weirder ...

The mystery continues

i really think this has to do with the placement of the "on runway" markers and how the AI traffic manager calculates each of the 8 legs of a flight... this is why i suggested to move the marker closer or further away so the craft will go by it before it can be triggered to use it... i'm saying it that way because it is easier to understand but the real guts are in the plan the traffic manager calculates for the route from landing to parking...
