can you commit to official FGDATA or know somebody who can do that ?

Groundnets are not part of FGData (Parking.xml only). I will post them in batch in the Devlist next month

Is parking.xml needed for anything?
I think it did get replaced with ICAO.groundnet.xml

Hahaha tI really don t know, I have just replicated the original set up I found in FG. Also I run 2.12 and I believe it conditions which ParkPos you can pick as startup location in the airport selection screen. But again just a gut feel.

FWIW: an example is CYVR...

Code: Select all
fgdata/AI/Airports/CYVR/parking.xml            36101    2015 Mar 09
terrasync/Airports/C/Y/V/CYVR.groundnet.xml    78931    2016 Apr 18

CYYC, EDDF, EDDI, EDDT, EDHL, EGKK and i'm fairly sure all the others in fgdata all have newer ICAO.groundnet.xml files...

based on this and past discussions, updating them in terrasync would be the better option, wouldn't it?

[EDIT]
i don't know how 2.12 would compare with 2016.1.1 and newer... if/when the fgdata/AI/Airports stuff is eliminated, it'll all be in the terrasync/Airports/I/C/A/ICAO.groundnet.xml files... i know we just also moved all the misplaced 3-letter ICA.*.xml files up one directory to where they needed to be... the misplaced ones were in I/C/A/ instead of I/C... that was something like 40000 files IIRC...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

I checked taxidraw for EPWA. I noticed a small mistake. Some planes circling outside the airport.
This applies to aircraft arriving and taxiing to the runway.

Only thing I can think of is that I had no exit at the end of the runway 15 (red in Picture) is this where you see an issue ? if not please provide a screenshot or more precise location
It's a known problem that AI will not accept arriving aircrafts to exit the runway at intermediary taxiways.

Hmm very strange. I cannot see any obvious reason for this behaviour. Will try to reproduce later this week and revert

I do not know why this happens, taxidraw looks properly done.

Did you clear (deleted) your navdata file so FG can start clean an rebuild AI on next startup ? (C:/user/YOURPROFILENAME/AppData/Roaming/Flighgear/navdata (from top of my head)

I did as you wrote, but did not give it effect.
I also noticed one thing. I tried to do it yourself and taxidraw eg at the airport UKBB not show me no aircraft. Maybe this is the wine in my computer ???

I think it did get replaced with ICAO.groundnet.xml

Just ran a quick test :

- added Cargo ParkPos to my VTBS groundnet
- did NOT save the file as parking in FGData/AI/Airports/VTBS (only as MySceneries/Airport/V/T/B/VTBS.groundnet.xml)

New ParkPos still appear in the list of available starting positions in FGRUN for FG 2.12 ; I am afraid you are right and the parking.xml is actually useless :-)

Cheers

Thinking about it. where Airports have no groundnet, the planes are magically appearing in the middle/centre of the airport then taxi in straight line to their take off position. If you have this behavior (looks like the Aeroflot plane is doing that on your picture) it could be a sign there are not enough parking space in my network. I will add more over the week end to see if it changes anything for you
