unreferenced groundnet node

Postby gooneybird » Thu Jan 14, 2016 8:54 pm

Been getting a lot more of these unreferenced groundnet node errors lately ie. unreferenced groundnet node:799445
Is there any way of tracking these down so they can be fixed?

I guess that's a node which is not connected to any segment("arc")
In my converted groundnet that can happen with a node on the runway which is not connected to a taxyway.
In X-plane/apt.dat there are segments on the runway - I delete those segments so the FG aircraft do not use the runway as a taxiway.
I think I can improve my script so that it removes all nodes that are not connected to any arc.

Do you not test them in Taxidraw after conversion, that should pick up the errors?

It would also help if you could make your script mark any node on a runway as "Is On Runway? True", that has stopped AI operating correctly in the past.

do you have an example airport with this issue?
I think it can only happen, if the (WED) author of the airport did it wrong.

Not a the moment none are working
It came up in testing a while ago but I can't remember if it was on the forum or in private correspondence.

Does WED use the "Is On Runway? True/False" tag :?:

Hmm! We could look into making the AI algorithm do sensible stuff with groundnet on runway, to for example enable backtracking but keeping it from using the runway as a taxiway.
