Citation X update

Postby REM261 » Thu Jul 27, 2017 10:33 am

On fg-startup it shows that an update for the Citation X is available.
I've tried with 2016.2.1, 2017.1.3 and latest 2017.2.1 several times.
I always get a "checksum fail" error.

It has shown that for the 777 there was an update available too and this just worked fine as it should.

Any ideas?

(Win 7, 8GB, enough free space...and all worked fine....so far) :)

Hi guys have you both tried the %appdata% delete navdata approach? if not uninstall the plane(s) from the flightgear file in documents, aircraft, org.flightgear.fgaddon, Aircraft folder. Then download the aircraft(s) that are giving problems for me in the past. I always do the %appdata% navdata approach so flightgear always rebuilds that file after deleting aircraft as a matter of course. This approach has always worked for me when the 777 has "played up" with the "check sum fail" Hope this helps?

Could you explain why this works? The nav-cache and aircraft downloads are unrelated systems, as far as I know there's no link between them. So if removing + rebuilding the cache affects aircraft installation, that would be kind of surprising!

I saw this the other day but assumed it was something development-related I had done. Will take a look but would be good to know other people / aircraft with the issue. If you encounter it, don't delete any files, it would be helpful to know what's inside your aircraft directory and please send me your fgfs.log file. My guess is somehow the zip file on the server has got out of sync with the catalog.

Hopefully relavant part of console output:

md5 verification failed:

failed to install package:dh106:3
void __cdecl LauncherMainWindow::onAircraftInstallFailed(class QModelIndex, class QString) QVariant(QUrl, QUrl("package:org.flightgear.fgaddon.dh106")) "Invalid package checksum"

Only these two (out of ca. 80) in my fgaddon have this wrong checksum.

Thanks.

I just checked, this is 'really broken' on the server side (haven't looked at why yet), so the launcher is doing the correct thing - refusing to install an update that it can't verify. So no need to start deleting files or anything on your system, everything is worked as intended to prevent installing a non-verified aircraft.

Now Curt and I need to investigate why the zip file and catalog file are in disagreement.

I don't see a problem with either constellation version, but the CitationX problem should now be cleaned up on the server side.

Okay, works now - Constellation prob was possibly from other reason: Had two versions of 106 installed, FG didn't like this.
