Flightgear crashes after installing ATC-pie

Postby RussL » Thu Dec 17, 2020 4:15 pm

FlightGear 2020.3.1, Ubuntu 20.04, ATC-pie 1.7.1
After installing dependencies for ATC-pie, FlightGear now crashes whenever trying to fly any aircraft from any location. This happens after rebooting even if ATC-pie has not been run.
There are no error messges and "ps aux" command doesn't show anything running for either program.
Any help?

Some additional info. If I start fgfs from the command line "fgfs --launcher I get the following when clicking "fly" in Flightgear window :
Now checking for plug-in osgPlugins-3.6.4/osgdb_nvtt.so
17.31 [WARN]:general Enabling ATI/AMD viewport hack
17.43 [INFO]:terrasync Starting automatic scenery download/synchronization to '/home/russl/.fgfs/TerraSync'.

can you try adding "--log-level=debug" to your command line and try again? the log will get big rather quickly... you can then post it to a site like pastebin and link it here... maybe it will provide more info but we won't know without trying...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

not sure why it mentions MATLAB in there but can you build another one with 2020.3.4 or maybe wait a day or so for 2020.3.5 to hit the streets and try again?

FWIW: i'm not sure the whole log made it into the paste... i saw only 3006 lines...

Log is 3006 lines with last line "record size is 669 bytes"
I don't have MATLAB, I use Octave.
I started fgfs this morning and got message about 2020.3.4 being available. I downloaded the appimage and it runs ok so far.
Is there anything to know about upgrading over my installed 2020.3.1?

ok, i didn't know you were using the PPA... weird that it shows MATLAB but i also do not know how it is being built in the PPA...
