New Manjaro Installation - FG seems to initialize but aborts

Postby mcluk » Sun Jan 19, 2020 9:24 am

I'm running Linux Manjaro, and just installed FlightGear using the wiki post's instructions. However, once running the launcher and hitting "Fly", a new back window opens up for half a second, and then closes. Here's the terminal output - what do I need to do?

There seems to be an error caught at "signal 11", but I'm not sure as to what that means.

Firstly. Please do not run flightgear as root. Run it as a normal user. AFAIK the problem might be from the dbus connection. Your graphical UI is running with your user privileges and you're starting FG with root account. Check and report back :)

Yep, that worked! I was running it as root earlier because I messed up the install and placed fgdata into my root folder, but I fixed that so I'm not sure why I was still running it in root. Thanks for the help!
