Upgrading from FG 2017.2.1 to 2017.3.1

Postby rleibner » Sat Sep 30, 2017 5:29 pm

Hi,

I have FG 2017.2.1 running fine (under Ubuntu 17.04) and want to upgrade to 2017.3.1 (or to the last available nightly build).
I've not founded a specific "FGFS upgrading" page into the wiki, so I read http://wiki.flightgear.org/Ubuntu#Required_Packages

The question now:
Must I download and compile simgear ? or with flightgear&fgdata is enough ?
Rodolfo

I would suggest that you look at http://wiki.flightgear.org/Scripted_Com ... ian/Ubuntu and make sure to have sub-folders for "stable" and "next" so you can run them cleanly side-by-side. The script takes care of which stuff to upgrade etc.

I've updated my PPA to have 2017.3.1, so you can use that instead of compiling from source, if you prefer.
