Beginner tries to bring a satellite into orbit

Today I decided to try the Space Shuttle again for a change. Learned quite a few things with the manual from Thorsten's website - thanks for pointing me there !

The shots of the start somehow I can't find anymore …


Just after SRB separation:



Possible bug - the flames are only visible at a certain angle

After main tank separation, started fuel dump:



How the **** does the fuel tank get there ?

(there was at least 15 minutes between this and the last screenshot, and we were rising ?)


Payload bay doors open and Ku-band antenna extended over northern Africa:


We have a precious payload on board …


Yaay, I can move that arm !


The position is perfect …


I successfully launched that satellite, but as soon as I pressed the release button it simply disappeared …


Short mission, I know, but I didn't have more courage, so closing down now:

Our thermal protection failed, as already on the last two tries …



What am I doing wrong - I have exactly followed the steps from the manual, and the in-sim checklist showed only greens …
