FG Space Shuttle: From KTTS to ISS in 10min (part 1/3)

Postby eatdirt » Fri Feb 12, 2021 9:11 pm

Hi there,

How about taking a trip from Kennedy Space Center to the International Space Station? Yes? Get on board the FG Space Shuttle Atlantis, it just got a new engineer Gingin!

Yes, it's long, but how about speeding-up time by a factor of 10x or 20x?

This is the first part of a 4 days-long space mission,

Hope you will be enjoying it before getting too nauseous with the keyboard typing parts ;)

Cheers,
Chris.

Very Nice Chris !
You will have to do the same with the new entry layout when pushed :)

Ah ah, yes. Let's see if I can visit Hubble next time!

PS: Don't worry for the entry display, I'll make clear that I stole the Shuttle from the hangar before it was completed :)

Very nice - due to the high speed it's not always easy to see what you're doing, but it's a nice demonstration of COAS use (and I've noticed you managed to capture a T-Storm :D )

Very true, on the bright side, it also hides mistakes and hesitations :)
I've tried to keep all important work flow and even though that is not understandable, I hope it gives the feeling on how much it takes. There is also a short cut at 100ft from ISS, where I had to pause to refuel to front RCS... so close, damned! The braking in LOWZ is a monster, I burnt more than 20% of all FRCS reserve in the last few hundred feets.

but it's a nice demonstration of COAS use

And also the EVA view is quite useful to center the collar at the end. With these, I've never opened the RDV window, plus the orbital nailing made by Gingin also allows us to skip the inclination burn. The immersion is amazing I have to say!

(and I've noticed you managed to capture a T-Storm :D )

These are gorgeous!!!
