i was just saying that YASIM craft cannot be reset like JSBSIM ones...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Ah, I got you wrong then, sorry. That, sadly, is true - which is one of the reasons why I hate Yasim.

FirstOfficerDelta wrote in Mon Nov 22, 2021 7:35 am:It is possible to set the engines on fire in a B707 in 2 ways:

1. You start the engines with the generator drive on.
2. Not sure how you can do that midflight, but autostart the engines while in 2x+ speed mode.

I've accidentally figured out a few ways to set them on fire midflight:

1. Mess with the generator drive switches again (even if you're at cruising altitude it'll usually set the engines on fire almost instantly for... some reason).
2. Turn off the fuel heaters (takes a bit longer but works every time).

Today I decided to do a trip to space in the Space Shuttle. For some reason I failed at the launch phase (the APU's wouldn't start :x ), so I decided to use the entry state. Then I followed the Entry tutorial (https://wiki.flightgear.org/Flying_the_Shuttle_-_Entry).

Entering the atmosphere:

The autopilot is taking over:

Should we be so hot ? :?

Sadly I couldn't capture the fiery trail properly … :( It was much more impressive insim …
Image

This definitely was too hot … our thermal protection shield failed

Falling like a stone … We are dead:

The debris ended up in the ocean …

Hopefully I have more luck next time.

What astonished me is that I got ~10 FPS all the time - with ~30 canvases !

At one point I had figured out a way to get the trail pretty much as it appears in-sim without the split-second lag of taking a screenshot or pausing breaking it. Can't remember exactly how (the screenshots I have of it are from almost a year ago), but it may have involved slowing down the time.

flc972 has created an impressively detailed MDPP airport in the Dominican Republic (Caribbean) with interiors modeled  : thread and download .

Very quick look (I probably had some NVIDIA driver settings low from working with WS3, and I didn't see the ground clutter in his screenshots so maybe I had a bunch of things off):

The order matters when you want to start an APU …

I was just doing a final check of a new livery and... looks like the sun decided to be fabulous today, with a pillar and a pair of sundogs.
