I've been doing some WWI era work for that past few years..

Since MacGyver, S02E06 Jack of Lies (aired November 3, 1986) I have had a thing for the Beechcraft Model 18. It is not too large while not too small, have a long range, and is as nimble as a WWII fighter.

Lacks a hidden smoke switch and a weathered "Fly by Night Airlines"* livery though.

Code: Select all

we can see it directly in the forum.

Hmm - what went wrong?
I've done it as you described and I can see the pictures here.
Worked this way all the years.
Did you get an error message? May be some rights issue on the server.

Edit: just checked the rights on the server and they seemed to be ok.
What do you see? Only a link?

???

Browsers with stricter security settings nowadays refuse to load http (unencrypted) content. I also only see a link, which says "Image". If I click on one, my Browser warns me, that the content cannot be displayed via https, and if I really want to see the content unencrypted...

The probably best solution would be to engage "Let's encrypt" on your server! Or any SSL or TLS encryption for that matter. The day, that browsers outright refuse to load anything unencrypted is coming closer every day...

But EDDI is coming along nicely! Looks amazing! I especially enjoyed the patches on the roof of the last picture! Amazing details! Pity though, you can't have higher settings on general Berlin.
Don't hesitate to let me know if I'm incorrect or just annoying! As long as you do it gently! :)

Guess that's it. But I'm not so keen to engage SSL there. A bit over the top for things are stored there and another thing with more dependency on others and to look after. What if Let's encrypt decided to drop the service or want's money one day (guess that would be the day when no browser displayed unencrypted stuff any more:(. That the certificates only last for 90 day's gives an impression that it can end nearly every day. And I hardly can believe that there is a real benefit in security in times where all the bad guys have backdoors everywhere.

Yes - it also shows some improvements at EDDI also. I slowly started with some FG projects again. Just finished some textures for the surrounding buildings. I did manage to get the new layout in my old system. So I had some hope that I could continue to work on it. But that's another story and unfortunately not as easy going as I hoped. Maybe more on this later.

I'm on vacation and have my laptop with fresh installed Vivaldi on it.
On my PC at home i have configured Vivaldi to load also from http, but i cant find the setting here.
So its my fault, sorry for the noise.

Well, Let's encrypt was founded to make it easy and free of cost for every server to have solid encryption. Being a maintainer of a web server of my own, I think that it a good thing, to have services like that. And you can be assured, if Let's encrypt should go away some day, that there are so many people, to found a new similar service.

Anyway, many hosters offer some kind of encryption for their customers. Some for free, some for fee... I mean, it's not only, that others can't read, what comes through your connection. It's also a big security issue in terms of drive-by attacks, man-in-the-middle attacks and so forth. I, for one, think that I don't want my visitors being vulnerable to such attacks, because of my setup of the server.

As I understand it, the 90-day limit is there to ensure, that old CA's and old or faulty certificates can't get abused for long. After 90 days everything is reset. It's just a small cronjob in practise.

But I don't want to persuade anyone to do anything. That's anyone's own decision. I just thought, it might be good to trigger some thinking.

Stay healthy everyone and have a good time!
