It only took a few minutes to develop a healthy degree of sympathy for the Viggen.

If any of these are deemed good enough for promo purposes or wallpaper use: Feel free to do so. Some credit would be nice though.

P.S:
I wish FG had a free camera system like X-Plane's, which is completely detached from the user aircraft object and can be controlled with the arrow keys (or keyboard in general). Great for screenshots.

Very nice screenshots. I am a big fan of both the Viggen and the NTTR (Nevada Test and Training Range) myself. 8)

Indeed. Very good situational awareness (except rear view), flies like a dream, and still getting better.

I have not tried it myself but there is for example this add-on: https://github.com/slawekmikula/flightgear-addon-fgcamera.

Speaking of addons, if you have a webcam, do give the Headtracker add-on and opentrack with an ArUco marker a try. :D

What I couldn't figure out yet is how to properly take it above 50000 ft and why the AP ATT and ALT hold modes do anything but what their labels indicate. And how to implement that dogfight training module from the M2000-5 or MiG-21.

I have not tried it myself but there is for example this add-on: https://github.com/slawekmikula/flightgear-addon-fgcamera.

I gave fgcamera a whirl and while it does support arrow key movement, it doesn't do what I want.
Walkview, on the other hand, looks like a good basis, for a global, more configurable add-on. But that's a subject for another thread.

I've been using Opentrack for the past couple of years with various flight sims, so I naturally gave it a try with Headtracker and it works as expected.
For input, however, I've switched to Smoothtrack at some point as the 10€ price tag was well worth not having to wear a basecap with an Aruco tracker all the time. Smoothtrack even works in near darkness with my two monitors as the only light source.

The compositor is really impressive. Smooth shadowing, great lighting, great atmospherics.

I went to the everest base camp, departing from VNLK
it is a quite difficult flight, as you can easily get lost if you dont know the region and the high altitude really impacts the engine power and the wing lift

Nice capture. I don't think I'm familiar with this plane though.
