there is no such version of FG... please use the entire version number when reporting the FG version... the closest we can guess is that you mean you have 2020.3.8... the whole number is needed because there might be (eg) 2018.3.8, 2019.3.8, 2021.3.8 and others... the year part of the version is important ;)

@danielHL: Yeah, this aircraft is almost glued to the runway … using 10° or better 20° flaps on takeoff makes it takeoff almost by itself though ! :wink:
This is most likely not due to a misplaced CG, but rather to lift and drag ground effects missing - I had the very same problem with my Cessna 210, and it gets off the runway very easily since I added the ground effect functions. I'm planning to improve the C208 at some point … but not right now ! ;)

@EatH:
1. Many Cessnas have an aileron-rudder interconnection (no idea though if it's also present on the C208), so if you model it very close to reality, moving the rudder should also move the ailerons, but if it happens when you use the rudder trim, this should not happen. Bug.
2. You most likely happened to spawn over water - the C208 has code in place to check if you are over water at startup, and if so, it automatically enables the floats. Feature or bug, just as you like it ! ;)
3. That's a symptom of an aircraft not using the state system. Bug.
4. That's rather a problem with FG, not with the Cessna 208. I don't know how it could be possible at all, as there are only two 90° separated runways, not a third one :?
5. No idea. Never experienced this. Maybe a bug with your soundcard ?

As for the property for the floats, there are two:
  • /sim/model/floats: Floats models are displayed based on this, but it does not trigger the necessary FDM changes.
  • /sim/model/float-command: If you just want to toggle the floats, use this property. A Nasal listener is bound to it which makes all the necessary changes.

Its volume is affected by the 'Effects' volume slider in Sound Settings.

Best thing would be if you could record it - everything else will be guesses in the dark. But, it could also be some engine sound as turboprops do make such noise.

Ah well, the high pitched sound two of you reported could very well be the stall warning horn as that sounds is turned on whenever you exceed an AOA of 12° at airspeeds of more than 20 kts.

I was looking around for instructions on properly using the autopilot on the Cessna 208 Grand Caravan, but I can't seem to find something conclusive. Specifically I would like to know how to change the modes. The first time I tested it I was able to use the altitude and heading beautifully but somehow it changed to pitch and roll mode and I can't seem to fix it.

if it has the KFC/KAP 150 (and/or 100) fitted, then you might want to look here in the official documentation: https://www.bendixking.com/content/dam/bendixking/en/documents/downloads/006-08377-0001_1-kap-150-ki-525a-pilot-s-guide.pdf
if it is modeled accurately, this should be pretty much all you need...

Nope, it's a Bendix KFC 200. Make sure the AP switch is set to on. Then, clicking any of the buttons should toggle the respective mode (note that the FD mode is not implemented yet). Here's the manual: https://www.bendixking.com/content/dam/ ... -Guide.pdf

Theeagle sorry, in case I misunderstood the conversation.

Hello everybody!

Since I couldn't reach ePilot about the bugs, I decided to fix and improve some things on my own.

These changes are now available on FGAddon (next/trunk only for now).

* Aileron Trim operable
* Elevator Trim Indicator operable
* Weight and Balance revised according to POH (work in progress)
