Submit your screenshot for the SOTM of May

Postby legoboyvdlp » Wed May 01, 2019 1:50 pm

Hello Pilots! :D

Now's your chance to submit your candidate for May's FlightGear SOTM contest!

Participation Rules
20 entries (because a poll can only have 20 options)
Only one entry per person to give everyone a fair chance of submitting a screenshot.
You may enter one extra for somebody else. This person of course can submit their own candidate.
If you submit a screenshot of another person, please make sure he/she grants you the right to publish it under the correct license!
Please convert your picture from png to jpg (plenty of converters online).
Must be taken with FlightGear.
Every picture should have a caption. Please limit yourself to about five words!
Please add the name of the aircraft and the location where the screenshot was taken to your entry (not necessarily to be mentioned in the caption).
Screenshots must not be post-processed except from cropping and/or resizing (but you may use the in-sim ALS filters).
You may change your entry as often as you want, until the voting starts.
You agree to license your screenshot under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license for publication by the FlightGear project.
You agree that the screenshot may be used to promote the FlightGear project, including publication on the flightsim.com forum with proper attribution according to the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license

Voting will start when 20 entries are reached or at the latest on May 25th, in a separate topic.

Cheers ;)

@Gingin, you're definitely a "Cloud Grand Master", you should share what METAR you're using to get this!!! Beautiful!

IIRC, the same METAR would not render the same. People have stated that they restart the weather till they are happy with the conditions looks of it.

But usually, some Broken layer with convective clouds like TCU work well

Thanks, I stand upon the work of my betters. That's Thorsten's Real Weather > Advanced weather in FG3.4 on my old XP machine.

Maybe something to do with the ground forcing in the Rhine and Alsace/Black forest regions The weather is always a bit more dramatic there.
