I think it might have been PHNL. I did alot of flights for testing that day so don't know which one I recorded.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Flying into the Great Smokey Mountains.
Just finding the way with compass and stopwatch in the Supercup!

Good fun! No need for a GPS.

Loading up a United Airlines 757-300 at KLAS Las Vegas. Takeoff then to St. Louis Missouri. I took a detour over the Grand Canyon

"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Night flight from LZIB to LOWI
Over Bratislava :

Innsbruck, runway in sight !

Btw, is it normal to see runway lights from 17 miles even with this METAR ?

I know that high pressure make very good visibility, but 17 nm is IMHO too large distance for absolutly perfect rwy lights visibility.

Can't please everyone... If you go looking through threads, you'll find plenty of people who believe you can see the lights from much farther out.

In the event, the visibility range is calculated by taking the power output of a light, converting it to equivalent stellar magnitude and then deciding upon a cut based on assumed cockpit light level (the last thing we unfortunately can not know).

So if you see any lights, it means the calculation says you can see them under good conditions.
