Seaking the snow....

Postby StuartC » Fri Dec 08, 2017 10:40 am

The Sea King is still a Work in Progress.
This flight was taken from my local airfield uising live weather and time as it was currently snowing and I wanted to see how well the Weather in FlightGear represented the actual conditions. The accumulating snow cover did indeed match what I could see out the window of my house ( I actually landed on my property at the end of the flight ). So, it was doing a very good job at representing the actual conditions I was seeing out side my house.

I can't tell you how many times I've booted up FG with live weather at my local airfield to discover it was raining or snowing outside my front door. Even though it is by design, it still surprises me.

"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."
