The first and the last.
In the first screen-shot the tiling of the grass texture is a bit too obvious unfortunately.

all shots looks really realistic, except the repetitive grass ground

Why aren't you using the grass effect which is supposed to largely take care of tiling?

That texture is nice, but i think tilling isn't a good choice here, maybe random tilling is a better choice, and grass effect just hide partially the ground

Mountain texture looks nice in the 2nd and 3rd shot. It looks a little bit more choppy in a closer up view though. Looks good elsewhere except what others have said about the grass.

It hasn't appeared by default for some time now - not many people probably know about fiddling with materials .xml's to turn it back on.

What are the required steps to activate the grass effect?

Just out of curiosity: Why isn't the grass effect enabled by default?

It actually is - someone must have disabled it in a region for it to not appear.

I followed the steps here: http://wiki.flightgear.org/FlightGear_N ... tric_Grass

I.e. I added the required lines to %fgdata%/materials/region/global-summer.xml

EDIT: I should say, this is with a recent (i.e. a few weeks back) Windows nightly build of a complete installer (includes FGDATA).

That's volumetric grass which is yet another nice touch. The grass effect is a non-tiling (or should we say low tiling?) texture composition shader you get by assigning airfield.eff to a landclass.

Ooops, never heard of that, sorry for the confusion!
