First 3 minutes of listing to the background music and I was all amped-up!

Question, lead aircraft, external view, the strobe light illuminated the payload (AIM-9 Sidewinder ?). What effect is being used to do that?

That's actually a classic for a lightmap to do, since the geometry between strobe and payload is fixed (unless the missile is fired, at which point you probably switch to an AI object anyway).
