Postby Clive2670 » Thu Sep 22, 2016 5:34 pm

Hi All, Can anyone tell me how I can change the format of FGTAPE so I can upload & share my tapes onto my you tube channel please. Bet it is very simple as many others have uploaded onto you tube but I cannot find any info' on how to do it! :(
Thanks Clive aka: G-BLS01

I don't believe you can, straight from an FGTAPE.

Load up the FGTAPE with FlightGear and then use something like Open Broadcaster Software to record/stream your FlightGear window. Then upload to the youtubes.

That's basically what I do for my vids, except no FGTAPE's. It's all live.

Thanks pinto, I have "ashampoo snap 2017" that can videos, I'll use that, I asked the question as I didn't know if there was a simpler way within FG!

I think PINTO is correct.

I usually use OBS also, but I found an alternative that gives you MANY more features but still has a decent video capture. I keep OBS for streaming and if I need more customization for the video capture. But for a quick capture of simple video or images, you can't beat the convenience (once you set it up) of ShareX.

Unfortunately, as far as i know ShareX is only available on the Windows platform, it is open source, and it is incredibly configurable. The really cool thing about it is its customization.

You can also annotate your image capture on the fly saving the extra editing step.

If you take the time to configure it with quick keys and customize the capture behavior for each of those keys, it's unbelievably helpful and a real time saver.
