January 7th, 1992:
on this day, there was a tough challenge for some of the Varig's 737-300: they had to replace one of the most classical and traditional models in all the history of aviation, the Lockheed l-188 Electra II, retired the day before, from the SBRJ-SBSP route.
The 737 would be capable of shortening the route from about 65 minutes to just 46, but it was uncertain if they would be well accepted by the passengers as a replacement for the charming and comfortable l-188.
I decided to fly this route on FG, departing 6:30 local time from SBRJ, with the simulator date on 01/07/92.
parked at the terminal, preparing everything for the flight
just after takeoff, performing the infamous turn to avoid the Sugarloaf mountain
and then finally on cruise speed and altitude
on final at SBSP, where i use the fabulous custom scenery from Grupo FGBR
and finally parked on the gate, after a successful flight.
ps: this livery is not available for download yet, but i hope it can be available soon
