I am circumnavigating the world in a 707, going south from Portland Int'l (KPDX). Today I flew from Santiago Int'l (SCEL) to Ushuaia Malvinas Argentinas Int'l (SAWH). The next stop is Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station (NZSP).
Here are some pictures I took on my approach to SAWH:
The cockpit as it was when I first decided to take screenshots, about ten miles out from SAWH.
Flying low over the southern Andes.
Weirdly tilted clouds.
Gear down as I prepare for approach.
Tower view at SAWH. You can barely see me.
On final to SAWH.
This was one of the better landings I've ever done with this plane. Not even a hint of a blackout! This was probably the best landing I've done on this trip so far.
I couldn't figure out how to line up with the jetway, however.
