FlightGear screenshot of the month: January 2016

Postby dg-505 » Tue Jan 05, 2016 7:36 pm

Hi :)

let's start the first screenshot contest of the year 2016!

Rules
1. 15 entries (because a poll can only have 15 options)
2. Only one entry per person to give everyone a fair chance of submitting a screenshot.
3. You may enter one extra for somebody else. This person of course can submit their own candidate.
4. Please convert from png to jpg (plenty of converters online).
5. Has to be taken with FlightGear.
6. Every picture should have a caption.
7. Screenshots must not be post-processed except from cropping and/or resizing

Voting will start when 15 entries are reached or at the latest on January 25 in a seperate topic.

Best regards
Jonathan S.

I think that's post-edited, no?
I have never seen a sun or runway lights like that in FG.
Otherwise... an absolutely stunning image.

Nope, it's not.
I have disabeld "Use point sprites for runway lights". Otherwise I would have any airport lighting at all.

Thanks :) I think it's a worthy competitor for the other screenshots

The runway actually has Fresnel reflection calculated - its specular brightness becomes very high under a shallow angle. You don't get to see it so often, but this is a fairly good example.

I like the unusual perspective of the shot by the way.

Thanks to Johan for your advice, I adjusted that. But frankly the als is meanwhile activated just for screenshots. Although it is great it swamps my computer and that is no fun when I'm on a long flight.

Here is my suggestion.
