That's from yesterday. It has improved a bit since than, but I don't have newer pics.
I'm just back from Berlin with some new photos to carry on. I also bought a license for a aerial picture of the scenery a while ago, so I can use it for developing. I never asked, but I'm afraid I might not be allowed to publish it for GPL stuff. So I will look for some other texture later.
Normally I make a report of my progress, if something is finished so that I can give it to the public. Found it sometimes quite frustrating to see some great stuff here, without having the opportunity to use some of it on my own. The next report will show a quite huge progress, but it will take some time to put it in a shape that can be published. It's not performance optimized yet and I have to find a proper way to deal with the imperfection of the terrain and also make it useable for updated versions of the terrain.
Please be patient &

Enjoy!

You may want to ask if you can use it for derivate work, provided the original imagery get removed. That way you can both recreate it and take some artistic liberties. Better be a fool for five hours, than five years.

I can use it to get dimensions and positions and I can even use it for things that I sell. It came with .tfw files. I bought it for an object with the picture on it at an exhibition that eventually could get sold. So I asked them before that this is possible and I also have a certificate.
But I never asked for GPL use. Guess that's not included. I paid the license fee. If it's under GPL even people that don't pay it can use it. So I never used it for a texture that I published. Before I will do that I will ask them of course.

Someguy: Nice pictures!! #3 is TOP! but the way the sun is drawn reduces realism
fmg: Perfect, it is good to know that you are working on. I don't know what satellite data you use but ArcGIS is pretty good without cost. I don't think you can find satellite data for use in textures and publish it in GPL.

I love the EC-135 - it's such a nice helicopter to fly, very well-done cockpit, and it offers a great view.

I didn't keep the original screen shot of the landing image with the fps in the corner, but IIRC it was around 24. On the cloudy one, you can see it was 30. The sunset shots were around 30 as well.
