I started to work on some liveries for our Piper Cub. Here is a red livery above Brasilia, Brazil:

FMG: Looks great! Kinda spooky!

Anyway; I did a Grand Canyon Tour in the brand new C172p. KGCN - KLAS:

Going in:

Looks like some dried out waterfall:

Colorado river winding and grinding its way through the rocks:

Time to install the floats:

That's where I crashed a number of times, trying to land on water - and subsequently taking off from the same point. To be honest I only managed to get away from there by cheating [Ctrl]+[u]...
See the points below on the map...

Arriving at the lakes:

First glimpse of Las Vegas on the horizon:

Turning for approach to KLAS 19R:

Shutdown at the terminal:

Here's the trip on Phi:

These crossover lines mark the places where I had to restart, due to crashing on water attempting to land/take off.

Quite a nice trip. Since the new regional textures it's very recommendable! If you're up for a challenge, try it with the F15!
Don't hesitate to let me know if I'm incorrect or just annoying! As long as you do it gently! :)

Do you mean new regional textures in a generic way or are you talking about my project? If the latter, then there is some mistake as I didn't touch the Northern Hemisphere scenery. I may be mistaken but I believe Thorsten is the one responsible for the regional textures around that area. Anyway, very nice shots :)

And here are some images of yet another new liveries for the Piper Cub I created:

Yes, IIRC Thorsten did the beautiful rock textures. Well it's not so new anymore... :)

Nice livery. Do I smell a bushkit coming for the Cub? Or maybe even the SuperCub version? :)

Thanks! As for bushkit, I think wlbragg was working on it but I have no idea about it. About the Super Cub, that would require a complete new project, I think. As for me, I just wanted to created some new liveries for the Cub -- just something out of excitement made in one single night -- but probably I wouldn't start yet another project myself. My hands are full dealing with my other FlightGear stuff at the moment, and real life is also catching up :)

And I always thought the Super Cub was just a Cub with a stronger engine. I guess I need some more reading on that.

I know the feeling...

I may be wrong, but I had the impression the Super Cub is larger, has different looking nose and windows and also other systems are more complex (it has flaps, also electrically I believe it's more complex). So it's not just a simple make-up work :)

Your KLAS scenery looks different than mine. Anything special going on there?

The Piper Cub is an evolved Taylorcraft E2, which retained it's open sided engine cowling with the old L-head 37 hp engine A-40 Continental. Image

The A-40 was up rated to the A-50 through A80 engines, through O-170 OHV engines in the later J3 Cubs. The Supercub has a full pressure cowled engine installation, faster climb, top speed with the Continental-90/O-200, same engine as in the Cessna 150. Plus stronger airframe, flaps and more weight, cargo capacity, and fuel load.

Nope! Plain terrasync scenery... Maybe some shader settings. Or random buildings...
I got shaders all maxed out, random buildings on, random veggies on 3.0 and all eye candy turned on...
