Compositor shadows from earlier trying out the compositor only branch of the Aircrane (github link) which has had a lot of further work put into it. The rope was from trying the cargo towing addon.

It's hard to decide on what direction to tale a screenshot at high settings in developed areas  . Things like roads were off due to not being ported yet.

This is just starting and flying to the nearest cluster of buildings at ENBR (I had wet ground+moss):
Image

Closeup, slightly changed season. Notice the self shadowing of the buildings at left:
Image

Aft pilot seat. ALS interior environment map is really nice, makes glass look like glass instead of open air  . Lot of cues/info about the interior and exterior even though it's a limited view:
Image

Bouncing the hook on the building. Wanted to start a wave by shaking the heli very roughly, but currently the rope simulation continues and dampens the wave (or something) when FG is paused to adjust a screenshot

Old screenshot of trying out aircrane from long ago. Rotorwash & wake. Barcelona:

this should go to the current SOTM contest... just LOOK at that helicopter shadow on the building back there!
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Yeah, the silhouette reminds me of a sci-fi/cyborg bee or dragon fly, or a hovering alien vehicle based on that aesthetic

The reason I'm hesitant is the closeup draws attention to lack of texturing and/or updated material properties that use recent features like a slight touch of fresnel factor showing environment reflection maps. You can see the contrast in the winch guard and rope textures, as the WiP Aircrane is being overhauled in the compositor branch. It might not be so suitable for presentation to show FG as people used to other sims may be looking for things to nitpick. I avoided zooming in more to emphasise the shadow even though it looked nice, and avoided showing the frame/aft-pilot controls even though it made it easier to figure out what the glass interior reflections were, just to avoid drawing attention to currently less textured bits.

I will upload everything to wiki anyway, so all the shots are available to use to show FG if needed. Guess it doesn't matter, so I'll use it as SOTM :)

Kind regards
vnts

Yep, but that's not surprising as the engine wasn't running

There is cheap, and then there is "let's tow this so I don't put wear on the engine" cheap.

You can change livery of AI wingman during runtime by Browsing Internal Property (Key: "/")
Then Go to AI/models/wingman/sim/model/livery
Then type in texture path of livery file.
