There are many very good scenery addons on the GIT or similar repositories...

...which hardly anyone knows.

I know, contributing to one centralized scenery is more work and all, but what is on TS is seem by 200.000 people, not by 20.

Probably yes, with too complicated toolchain, with very difficult even simply bugs fixes - for example missing or bad ILS for some airports (KJFK, OMDB etc) known more than 2 years, old runways designations incompatible with fresh AIRAC nav databases (Queenstown, Bolzano etc), bad ground layouts of many airports (Taipei RCTP, RCSS and many other), poorly developed terrain around airports (SVMD, LPMA (now fixed), SCIP (now fixed too) etc), old nav database with answer - update will be available after new world scenery regeneration, and many other troubles. FG architecture supports localy defined navigation, airport and other needed data, scenery updates on alternative repositories are very good solution and immediately fix many inconsistencies. We would point users on forum with informations about that alternatives - for example with Tip of the day on FG startup screen...

Definitely not - we should rather encourage more people to contribute to the world scenery (most problems go away with more workforce) rather than try to populate the world with scenery patches.

(Or how do you imagine e.g. materials files work for 100 different custom scenery patches - you really want to manually merge all of those on your installation? )

If You want more peoples as contributors, You must provide relative simply development tool all-in-one style.

I'm generally trying to appeal to reason rather than to laziness.

Looks excellent!

Definitely try contacting the https://data.linz.govt.nz/ people, explain what you want to use it for - chances are they'll let you release it under the GNU GPL 2.0.

Yes I will contact Land Information New Zealand and ask for permission to release it under the GNU GPL 2.0 , as Thorsten said so many more would enjoy the scenery if it was in terrasync.
