TAWS (EGPWS)

Postby Amirreza Shakeri » Thu Oct 03, 2019 8:21 pm

Hello.

I don't know, is there any aircraft equipped with EGPWS or not !?
According to the following article, As i understood this feature (EGPWS) has been available since FG2018.1 but it is not installed on any aircraft by default and some manipulations need to be done to get it working.

Have anybody tried that ?

In fact the other thing which is not clear for me is that if it (EGPWS or TAWS) is done, why FG1000 team is working on it and it's progress bar in the following article is zero !!??

Thanks in Advance.

It's been there and in active use by dozens of aircraft for at least a decade...

I think this is GPWS (ground proximity warning system), which you say. not Enhanced one (EGPWS) which i mean.

It is EGPWS - specifically the Honeywell Mark VIII variant and it's been there since 2006.
