What has happened with 2018.1.1 release?

Postby Anarcho-pilot » Fri Apr 06, 2018 6:28 pm

Hello, everyone! The question I'm interested in is at the name of this topic. As I know, there were some problems with SourceForge, which were solved many days ago. I'm tired of waiting! :D

Download the "unstable" nightly if you are that desperate, I have and I haven't encountered any issues! https://sourceforge.net/projects/flight ... /unstable/

Hi All,

I think everyone got a little distracted during the Sourceforge problems, and started getting on with various development projects rather than finishing packaging the release. It's been mentioned on the -devel list, so hopefully Torsten will push the magic button shortly.

No official announcement yet apart from the devel list, but you will now find https://sourceforge.net/projects/flight ... se-2018.1/

Sounds great! So this actually means that the 2018.1.1 delay is over right?

I have finally updated to version 2018.1.1 via official PPA repository: https://launchpad.net/~saiarcot895/+arc ... ter=xenial
When I try to launch the simulator with any aircraft I resieve a message: Unable to open time zone file '/usr/share/games/flightgear/Timezone/zone.tab'
I really don't have a "Timezone" folder in my FG-data location. Before the update everything worked fine. Please, help me!

Some time ago FGdata packages in the PPA were updated again. I updated them on my computer and got the same problem. Reinstalling them helped again. Could this be problem on my computer, or I should report this to the maintainer of the PPA?

Dear all,

I have just pushed the files for the 2018.2.1 release of FlightGear to our primary host at
https://sourceforge.net/projects/flight ... se-2018.2/
Within the next few hours you should be able to download your copy from one of their mirrors.

We still have to complete a few items of our virtual release checklist:
- post an announcement to the forum
- update the wiki
- write a changelog
- spread the word

Thanks to all of you who have contributed to this fantastic project!

Torsten
Why not try the new release and see if this cures your problems?

"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."
