Animation: rotate

Postby mhab » Sat Oct 12, 2013 9:07 pm

Hello

Is it possible to have a "rotate" animation which is not constantly following the assigned property, but sometimes ahead/behind the interpolated value ?

In "translate" animation I can define as many interpolation values as I want between the start and end value, and in this way have - kind of - arbitrary movements, not constantly following the property. I couldn't find how to do that for "rotate" ...

Background:
I want to animate the telescope-damper (which holds a door), in a way so it follows the door through the opening/closing process. I let it rotate similar to the door.

Problem:
Due to the different geometry of the movements of the door and the damper/holder (the telescope damper needs to be mounted in a bit other position than the door)
at start and end all is located perferctly well. In between however I would need to rotate the damper ahead/faster ...

Hope I was able to explain it in some understandable way ;-)

Thanks
Mike-DE

It should be supported in just the same way, but just use the locked-track for your case: http://wiki.flightgear.org/Tracking_animation

It's really no different for rotations. See for an example line 85 and further from https://gitorious.org/fg/fgdata/source/ ... 0_gear.xml
