Could you tell me how to download the source code? I have looked on sourceforge but cant seem to find it. Or is there a way to access it through the version I use on my computer? I use a mac and currently use version 2016 of FG.

Hope this isnt too much of a noob question! Thanks

You need to use git.

A bit of searching (Google flightgear git) should get you started with that.

Sourceforge links are here: https://sourceforge.net/p/flightgear/_list/git

Core elements are flightgear, simgear and fgdata. If you look at each one, you'll see that it shows you how to clone, e.g. "git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/flightgear/flightgear flightgear-flightgear"

hmm, on a mac can you not just download fgmeta with git and then run the download_and_compile.sh script?
